Morjim beach
Morjim beach is located in Pernem taluka, north Goa. It is the southern most in an uninterupted series of beaches on the coast from Chapora river to terekhol river, approx. 13km in total. Morjim beach is about 2,5km long. The beach stretches from the chapora river bank to a large rock on the beach, this is where Morjim beach ends and Ashvem beach begins. Morjim beach is one of three beaches in Goa, the others are Agonda beach and Galgibagh beach, where the state Forest Department operates a very successfull conservation programe for the olive Ridley sea turtle. The village of Morjim lies stretched out out behind the beach. The village as such is nothing more than a collection of houses, but a very pleasant one as such. The landscape is a beautiful mix of jungle forest and palm tree grooves, agricultural land and well kept houses.
